The Para Athlete Barriers Fund provides grants to support catergorised athletes in overcoming personal barriers that may limit their progression or performance in Para sports. The Fund reflects a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring Para athletes have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Purpose of the Fund
The Fund is designed to help current Australian high-performance Para athletes by helping offset costs they would otherwise need to self-fund, removing barriers to both performance and progression.
It provides targeted support to help athletes overcome challenges related to:
- Training
- Coaching
- Travel
- Other essential needs

Funding Details
- Total funding pool allocated: $300,000
- Maximum grant per applicant: $4,000
- Only individual applications are eligible
- Each applicant may submit one application
Support and Planning
Applicants are encouraged to work with their coach and/or Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Manager to identify how support from the Fund could best enhance their performance or progression.
