The Safeguarding in Sport Continuous Improvement Program (SISCIP) commenced in July 2023. Funding to develop and implement the program was provided through the National Office for Child Safety (NOCS).
The SISCIP assists sporting organisations to build their capability to create safe and inclusive environments that protect children and young people from harm and abuse. The program is underpinned by the National Integrity Framework (NIF) and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (The National Principles). The SISCIP helps to meet Theme 1–Awareness raising, education and building child safe cultures of the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021–2030.
The SISCIP Special Initiative Funding Grant Program is aimed at supporting sports that have signed up to the program to adopt, implement and embed safeguarding recommendations identified through the SISCIP.
The ASC administers the Grant Program, in consultation with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA).
